04_002 SPORT COMPLEX NESSLAU SWITZERLAND A Competition Scheme for a School and Public Sport Facility perched on +735 meters in the picturesque Valley of Toggenburg. The Project was intended to be built of local timber within a tight financial budget. The idea was to build solely with laminated timber and discarding all superfluous routine materials, such as tiles, cavity insulation, paints etc.
Vaulted 3-ply polycarbonate elements solved the roofing and façade covers, leading to a minimised work processes and reduced maintainence costs. The elimination of standard roofing techniques was to guarantee sensitive cost constraints .
